PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient information: planning treatment abroad

Practical questions to ask before making a commitment.

Make an informed decision

Start with the named specialist, their professional background and the procedure being considered. A consultation is an opportunity to ask about your options, not a commitment to treatment.

Understand the complete cost

Ask for a written quotation and check what is excluded. Travel, accommodation, insurance, companion expenses and unexpected additional care should not be assumed included. TreatMeAbroad’s terms explain potential referral fees, service fees, commissions or pathway margins.

Know who is responsible

The independent provider is responsible for clinical decisions and care. Agree the hospital, recovery plan, follow-up and contact arrangements before booking. Website information is general and cannot establish your individual suitability.

Questions, corrections and concerns

General enquiries and requests to correct website information can be sent to internationalpatient@rateddoctor.com. Please do not include medical records or sensitive clinical details. The complaints page explains how to raise a concern.

Frequently asked questions

Is TreatMeAbroad a hospital or the treating medical practice?

No. TreatMeAbroad facilitates access to independent healthcare providers. Clinical assessments, treatment decisions and medical care remain the responsibility of the treating doctors and hospitals.

What happens when I request a consultation?

Choose your specialist and enter your contact details and treatment interest. The request is emailed to the selected doctor, with a copy to the TreatMeAbroad coordination team. The website shows a confirmation after the sending service accepts the request.

Does an enquiry commit me to treatment?

No. An initial enquiry does not oblige you to proceed. Clinical suitability and the final treatment plan must be assessed by the treating provider.

Are the displayed prices a final quotation?

No. Prices are indicative. Ask the provider for a written quotation showing the procedure, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms. Currency conversions are approximate.

Should I upload medical records through the enquiry form?

No. The form is for contact details and treatment interest. Ask your doctor for an appropriate secure route to share clinical records.

How is follow-up arranged?

Discuss recovery and follow-up with the treating provider before travelling. TreatMeAbroad encourages coordination with healthcare professionals at home where feasible; the arrangements must be agreed for your own pathway.
